"I forgot to mention in my long E-Mail yesterday that I used the accountancy support help of Dennis and Turnbull last week.

"I was really impressed with the speed of their response. It was only a basic enquiry; I wasn't sure if I needed to complete a Tax Return by 31 January 2009. I didn't think I needed to, but after looking at the HMRC website was none the clearer and didn't want to start racking up late submission fines. I made the enquiry by the E-Mail facility and got a phone call back about 3 hours later. The guy was really pleasant and helpful and made a recommendation about the best way to go forward.

"I'm going to contact them again and will probably use their services, I've been importing my bank statements regularly into Xero and have been keeping any receipts, so hopefully it should be quite straightforward.

"I've had a look at the Xero software, imported my Bank statement and done a reconciliation (albeit with two transactions!). It looks really impressive. Some of the reports that you can access are fantastic, the sort of thing that is invaluable to help run a profitable business. I need to spend a bit more time getting more familiar with it and seeing exactly what it can do for me. But my first impressions are excellent.
